We had a delicious meal at Phyllis and Jake's house in Eugene. Phyllis prepared the turkey and Gwyneth sauted winter greens with sliced sweet potatoes and tart apples. We were six at the beautifully set table, John, Colton, Rhiannon Chase, Gwyneth, Jake and Phyllis. Glass pumpkins and colorful leaves as place cards and a fall-colored centerpiece were artfully arranged, as usual, by Phyllis.
After the meal we played all Blockhead, a traditional game in the Hamel family. I think we set a record with the most blocks.
Last weekend we ventured to the Mount Piscah "Play in the Rain" festival, minus the rain. It was a glorious day. Chase got to ride a horse and Colton rleased the baby trout he borrowed from the McKenzie River. They were monopolizing his fish tank at home. The kids roasted marshmellows over the fire and fun was had by all.
